What Is an Oxygen Bomb Calorimeter?
An oxygen bomb calorimeter measures the heat released when a combustible sample is burned inside a sealed, oxygen-filled combustion vessel.
The heat generated by combustion is transferred to a surrounding water system. By measuring the resulting temperature change and applying the instrument calibration data, the calorific value of the sample can be determined.
