Purpose:
The MC-100 Chlorophyll Meter enables rapid, non-destructive measurement of chlorophyll content in plant leaves. It is an instrument capable of converting relative chlorophyll content (CCI) into actual chlorophyll content. The device has built-in calibration relationships between relative and actual chlorophyll content for 22 plant species, directly displaying the actual chlorophyll content. It can also convert CCI into SPAD units.
Principle:
Chlorophyll strongly absorbs red and blue light while exhibiting low absorption of near-infrared radiation beyond 700 nm. Based on this absorption characteristic, the MC-100 Chlorophyll Meter uses 653 nm red light as the excitation source and 931 nm near-infrared light as the reference source to illuminate plant leaves. The detector measures the ratio of transmitted near-infrared to red light, which represents the relative chlorophyll content. Using the instrument's built-in calibration data for 22 plant species, it calculates and outputs the actual chlorophyll content.
Features:
Directly displays chlorophyll concentration (unit: μmol/m²)
Advanced optical technology ensures fast measurements and large storage capacity, with data transferable to a computer
Equipped with USB and RS232 communication ports, compatible with GPS connection
Large measurement area; includes a light shield accessory for measuring narrow leaves less than 9 mm in width
