Background

Deoxynivalenol, also known as vomitoxin, is a potent fungal toxin that affects crops grown in cool and moist conditions. It is produced by the Fusarium species and mainly affects corn, wheat, oats, and barley. These species are also known to co-produce other toxins, particularly zearalenone.

To protect consumers from the harmful effects of deoxynivalenol, most countries have established regulations. The European Union has established maximum levels for food and recommendations for feed, while the US FDA has established advisory levels.

Deoxynivalenol rapid test kit is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay that determines a qualitative level for the presence of Deoxynivalenol and is intended for use in grains, feed materials and feed products. This method is suitable for the rapid on-site test.

Precautions before use of Deoxynivalenol（DON）Rapid Test Kit

1. Please operate at ambient temperature 20~28℃
2. The strips and microwells are easy to be affected with damp, please use them as soon as possible when the small package is opened.
3. Please use the provided strip holders for testing
4. Diluent can be used as a negative control while tap water or purified water cannot.
5. Fluorescence test strips and ELISA method belong to rapid test reagent, the test result are for preliminary screening only, not for final determination. If precise quantification is required, please use standard detection methods for further confirmation.
