Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today announced that it will host a series of free seminars in the UK on the use of trace elemental analysis techniques in the environmental, food safety, clinical and petrochemical markets. The three informative seminars will take place on November 18th (Hotel du Vin, Bristol, UK), November 19th (Coombe Abbey Hotel, Coventry) and November 20th (London Science Museum, London) 2008 and should be attended by anyone working in these fields who want a considered update of how the latest advances in technology can help them work more effectively. Hosted by representatives from Thermo Fisher, each full-day event will include a presentation on the use of trace elemental analysis instrumentation for environmental analysis and will allow ample opportunities for discussion with the experts. The topical sessions will cover key requirements for environmental analysis, strategies for minimizing the cost of analysis and future considerations for environmental monitoring. Each event will also include a workshop on food safety that provides an introduction to the Thermo Scientific Food Safety initiative and addresses key requirements, legislation and future direction.

Entitled “Piecing it all together,” the interactive seminars will offer advice and information to professionals in the environmental, food safety, clinical and petrochemical markets on which trace elemental analysis techniques they should consider implementing in their laboratories. Other event highlights include educational sessions for clinical and petrochemical/organics applications. A range of applications will be addressed including the role of AA in clinical laboratories, the benefits of using ICP-MS for routine assays in the clinical and petrochemical markets, as well as how laboratories can achieve enhanced performance in ICP on the latest instruments with EMT torch technology.
