RAD50 double strand break repair protein encoded by RAD50 is highly similar to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Rad50, a protein involved in DNA double-strand break repair. RAD50 double strand break repair protein forms a complex with MRE11 and NBS1. RAD50 double strand break repair protein complex binds to DNA and displays numerous enzymatic activities that are required for nonhomologous joining of DNA ends. RAD50 double strand break repair protein, cooperating with its partners, is important for DNA double-strand break repair, cell cycle checkpoint activation, telomere maintenance, and meiotic recombination. Knockout studies of the mouse homolog suggest RAD50 is essential for cell growth and viability. Mutations in RAD50 are the cause of Nijmegen breakage syndrome-like disorder
Rad50 Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of Rad50 protein.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB: 1:500-1:2000, IHC-p: 1:100-1:300, ELISA: 1:20000. Not yet tested in other applications.
