This complex is known for its role in cell adhesion, migration, and signaling processes, particularly in the context of immune responses and tissue repair. Research has implicated integrin β6 in the regulation of inflammation and immune cell function. It is involved in the activation and recruitment of immune cells to sites of injury or infection.
