TNR encodes a member of the tenascin family of extracellular matrix glycoproteins. The encoded protein is restricted to the central nervous system. The protein may play a role in neurite outgrowth, neural cell adhesion and modulation of sodium channel function. It is a constituent of perineuronal nets. TNR (Tenascin R) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with TNR include Familial Osteochondritis Dissecans. Among its related pathways are ECM proteoglycans and Cell adhesion_Cell-matrix glycoconjugates. An important paralog of TNR is TNC.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: IHC-p 1:50-200, ELISA 1:10000-20000.
