TAS2R40 (Taste 2 Receptor Member 40) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and Peptide ligand-binding receptors. GO annotations related to this gene include G-protein coupled receptor activity and bitter taste receptor activity. An important paralog of this gene is TAS2R39. Gustducin-coupled receptor implicated in the perception of bitter compounds in the oral cavity and the gastrointestinal tract. Signals through PLCB2 and the calcium-regulated cation channel TRPM5.
Mouse Taste receptor type 2 member 40 (TAS2R40) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate TAS2R40 in samples. An antibody specific for TAS2R40 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyTAS2R40 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for TAS2R40 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of TAS2R40 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
