BINDER GmbH, the global leader of specialized simulation cabinets for scientific and industrial laboratories, continues to expand its international activities with the official opening of BINDER SDN BHD, which has its head office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Asia Representative Office was established in 1999; since June 2007, it has had "Operational Headquarters" status. The office handles business in Southern Asia, Southeast Asia, the Far East, China and Australia, and has now been registered as an independent subsidiary of BINDER GmbH. The opening was attended by 40 guests from 14 Asiatic countries, including YAB Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Abdul Kadir Bin Haji Sheikh Fadzir, Member of Parliament and former Malaysian Minister for Information and Tourism, and representatives of the Malaysian Office for Industrial Development (MIDA).
Roland Krebs manages BINDER SDN BHD activities. Krebs, a native of Switzerland, previously worked in Research and Development, and was also involved with international marketing and sales for the pharmaceutical industry. Under his guidance, the current eight-member team has steadily advanced the company's expansion in the Asian market. BINDER's sales revenue in Asia has increased by 400% since the office was opened in 1999. "Over the last five years, we have conducted specialized product and service training and have provided focused and market-oriented support to our partners throughout the entire market in Asia, which has given us an excellent reputation as a reliable and competent partner. We are quite familiar with the regional markets and will augment our activities in Asia even further by opening offices in China as well as subsidiaries in India and Japan," said Peter M. Binder, President and CEO of BINDER GmbH.
Global growth through increased production
BINDER exports the simulation chambers manufactured in its Tuttlingen facility to more than 120 countries worldwide. Large-scale capital expenditure and the introduction of a new production system at the facility have shown a marked increase in production, accompanied by cost savings of up to 25%. BINDER GmbH wants to increase total sales revenue by 15% annually, thus increasing the business in Asia to 35% of overall sales by 2013.
BINDER GmbH presently already produces 80% of its sales through international business. Central and Southeastern Europe are supported from Tuttlingen, North and South America from New York, Eastern Europe from the Moscow office, and Northern Europe from Wolverhampton (UK). Future growth will also be achieved by deploying internal resources and using BINDER's technological advantage to create superior new products.
