The Triple Quad 6500+ System, revolutionary sensitivity, speed, and performance for your most challenging methods – all backed by the integrity and quality of the SCIEX brand.
2> The SCIEX 6500+ Series with IonDrive™ technology and improved detection system, with optional addition of the elevated SelexION®+ differential mobility separation technology device, merges outstanding sensitivity with renowned performance to give you the lowest limits of quantitation (LLOQ) for compounds of many classes, even in complex matrices, for robust and reliable results you can count on.
Low mass or high mass, positive or negative polarity – detect and identify analytes across a wide scope of chemistries at once. The Triple Quad 6500+ system enhances performance across key applications including:
1) Small and large molecule bioanalysis
2) Comprehensive food residue monitoring
3) Priority environmental contaminant detection
4) Biomarker verification
5) Forensic drug screening in complex matrices
3> Enhancing LOQs for the most challenging analytes
The newly enhanced High Energy Detector+, with an increased detection area, new high voltage power supply, and floated design, delivers significant performance improvements, enabling even lower limits of quantitation for challenging analytes that ionize in both positive and negative modes, as well as improving switching between modes to quantify more compounds in each injection.
Figure 1. Ultra-trace detection of ions in both positive and negative ESI. Analytes of all shapes, sizes, and polarities are no match for the 6500+. Low level detection of perfluroalkyl acids including perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) (shown here) in drinking water at levels of 1 ng/L, with CVs less than 8% and excellent quantitative linear dynamic range is easily achievable.

4> Extended compound detection in a single run
Ultra-fast polarity switching at rates as low as 5ms combined with Scheduled MRM™ Pro algorithm provides exceptional detection of 100s of compounds, regardless of ionization polarity, in a single injection. Acquisition speeds are fast enough to deliver sufficient data points across chromatographic peaks for accurate quantitation even in areas with many co-eluting peaks.
Figure 2. For a pesticide analysis containing 610 MRM transitions (58 in negative ionization), the Triple Quad 6500+ system delivers exceptional detectability of all MRMs in both ionization modes for extended compound coverage in a single injection with excellent quantitation.

5> Enhanced IonDrive Technology – pushing the sensitivity barrier: The Triple Quad 6500+ Series continues to build on the patented IonDrive Technology, simultaneously targeting three critical areas of enhancements in the 6500+ Series, ruggedly driving performance improvements and unrivaled sensitivity:
1) The production of more ions with the IonDrive Turbo V Source
2) The capture and transmission of more ions with the unique IonDrive QJet Guide
3) The detection of more ions with the new IonDrive High Energy Detector+

6> Produce more ions

The IonDrive Turbo V Source increases ion production using enhanced, gas-flow dynamics and optimized heater configurations while improving reliability, reproducibility, and robustness. The IonDriveTurbo V Source maintains the quick-change atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization (APCI) and TurboIonSpray Probes as well as the low-dispersion electrodes for use with micro-flow UHPLC applications. From 5 μL/min to 3mL/min, the IonDrive Turbo V Source is the perfect match for narrow bore, standard bore, and UHPLC flow rates.
7> Focus and transmit more ions

The patented and optimized IonDrive QJet Guide improves ion containment and collisional focusing through a dual-stage design that captures and focuses ions with incredible efficiency. With a larger internal radius in the first stage that improves the capture of ions and a narrower internal radius on the second stage that increases the ion transmission efficiency into Q0, the design is able to introduce many more ions into the analyzer.
8>Detect more ions

The new IonDrive High Energy Detector+ boasts a floated design to enhance sensitivity for detection of a wider range of compounds, including those at low masses in negative mode ionization, and enabling ultra-fast polarity switching for more comprehensive compound detection in every injection.
