Bovine Tuberculosis is a serious bacterial disease caused by Mycobacterium bovis that affects the respiratory system. Bovine TB, capable of infecting most mammals including humans, is a chronic disease that has affected animal health throughout recorded history.
The Bovine TB Ab ELISA is an indirect Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay for the qualitative detection of Mycobacterium bovis antibody in serum.
The Bovine TB Ab ELISA contains a microplate, which is pre-coated with Bovine TB antigen on well. During first incubation, Bovine antibodies bind to the antigens in the well, if present in the test sample. Following this incubation, all unbound materials are removed by aspiration and washing. HRP conjugate added subsequently forms a complex with the bovine antibodies.,while unbound materials are removed by aspiration and washing before the addition of a substrate solution. Thus, the residual enzyme activity found in the well will be directly proportional to the anti-Bobine concentration in specimens and evidenced by incubating the solid-phase with a substrate solution . The reaction is stopped by addition of the stop solution and colorimetric reading will be performed by using a spectrophotometer at 630nm .
The specially selected Bovine TB antigens are used as detector materials in the test. These enable the Bovine TB Ab ELISA to identify to Bovine TB antibodies in specimens, with a high degree of accuracy.
