Principles
Canine Heartworm Test Kit is designed to detect the antigens of canine heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) in canine whole blood, serum or plasma. Two antibodies in the kit specifically bind with different epitopes of the antigens. After being absorbed into the cellulose pad, the antigens of canine heartworm move and bind with gold-colloid complex of monoclonal anti-canine heartworm of the conjugate pad, forming Ab-Ag complex. This complex, then, forms Ab-Ag-Ab direct sandwich binding with the antibody of another anti-canine heartworm in the nitrocellulose membrane. The test results can appearance on Control and Test lines where the principles of immunochromatography are used.

Procedure
1) Specimen Canine whole blood, serum or plasma.
2) Test procedure
a) When specimen and test kits are stored at cold circumstances (2~8 ℃), put them at room temperature for 15~30 minutes before use.
b) Take out a device from a pouch and place it on a horizontal surface.
c) Using a dropper as a pipette, obtain the specimen and dispense 1 drop (40 ㎕) of the fluid into the specimen well(S).
d) When the specimen is completely absorbed into the specimen well(S), drop about 3 drops (80㎕) of buffer.
e) Read the test results between 5 ~ 10 minutes.
Results
1. Positive:Both on T Line and C line being seen wine-red color reaction.

2. Negative:no color reaction on Test Line (T Line),only on Control Line(C Line) being seen wine-red color reaction.

3. Void:No color reaction on C Line.
