NAV3 belongs to the neuron navigator family and is expressed predominantly in the nervous system. Neuron navigator 3 contains coiled-coil domains and a conserved AAA domain characteristic for ATPases associated with a variety of cellular activities. NAV3 is similar to unc-53, a Caenorhabditis elegans gene involved in axon guidance. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants for NAV3 have been described but only one has had its full-length nature determined.
Human Neuron navigator 3 (NAV3) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate NAV3 in samples. An antibody specific for NAV3 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyNAV3 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for NAV3 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of NAV3 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
