Eppendorf introduces FastPlasmid Mini for isolating plasmid DNA

The FastPlasmid Mini Kit is a rapid, efficient method for isolating high quality plasmid DNA. The innovative technology works with a true one-step lysis, resulting in extremely simplified handling and enormous timesavings. Both the number of steps to be performed and the number of buffers used are signifi cantly reduced. Plasmid purification can be performed in as little as 9 minutes.
 
The method utilizes a proprietary technology that involves an enzymatic and osmotic process enabling lysis in a single three-minute step. The lysate is clear and does not require centrifugation prior to transferring to the spin column.
 
The plasmid DNA is trapped by the membrane and can be eluted following a single wash step.
Mini Kit for high and low-copy plasmids vary according to the E. coli strain used. If 1.5 ml LB medium is used for the overnight culture, the yields for high-copy plasmids will lie within a range between approx. 4 and 20 µg, and those for low-copy plasmids between approx. 1 and 3 µg.
