  • Company Profile
The Intravenous Visual Mouse Tail Injection Fixator is an instrument independently developed by Yuyan Instruments for rapid and stable intravenous tail injection in mice. Traditionally, mouse injections relied on blind techniques and operator experience, posing significant challenges for novice researchers. This device significantly improves injection efficiency by clearly displaying tail vein position and visualizing needle insertion actions. It is equipped with an automated tail compression system.

Application
Tail vein injection and blood collection in mice and rats.

Mouse tail vein injection requires extensive practice, yet success rates remain low even after training. Three key factors influence outcomes:
Stability of animal restraint
Angioplerosis of the tail vein
Precision of needle

The Intravenous Visual Tail Injection Fixator addresses these issues:
Quick-install Mouse Restrainer: Ensures fast, secure, and comfortable restraint, preventing forward movement during injection.
Press-and-Push Method: Compresses blood from the tail root to the distal portion, fully engorging the veins for easier needle insertion.
Vascular Visualization: Special yellow light illumination highlights tail veins, enabling precise needle placement without extensive operator training.

SKU: YAN-100

Features & Benefits
Quick-install Mouse Restrainer: Fast setup, secure restraint, and ergonomic design to stabilize the animal.
Press-and-Push Method: Enhances angioplerosis of the tail vein by redistributing blood flow.
Vein Visibility: Special yellow light illumination highlights tail veins, enabling visual and precise needle placement.

Operation
  • The Intravenous Visual Mouse Tail Injection Fixator employs a press-and-push method to compress blood from the tail root veins toward the distal portion of the tail, ensuring angioplerosis of the vascular network in the latter half.
  • The engorged vascular diameter increases by approximately 40% compared to normal conditions. Combined with continuous arterial blood supply, the veins further expand, providing sufficient space for needle insertion.
  • The expanded vascular walls adhere tightly to the coccyx and skin, forming a fluid-filled space that prevents the needle tip from entering above the vessel or penetrating through the vessel wall.
  • This press-and-push method also stabilizes the tail, minimizing forward movement caused by animal discomfort. The device includes an adjustable tail support bracket to secure the injection site, ensuring stable and precise needle insertion.
  • The tail support bracket is equipped with yellow light illumination (light is absorbed by tail veins, causing them to appear dark). This clearly visualizes tail veins (particularly prominent in C57 mice), guiding needle depth, direction, and insertion length.
  • Operators can visually confirm whether the needle has entered the vessel, significantly improving accuracy compared to traditional methord.
  • The device supports single-operator use with pedal switch, achieving an average injection time of 15 seconds per mouse.
  • The working angle is adjustable to accommodate individual operating preferences.
  • With this device, high success rates are attainable across all mouse strains, including challenging cases, ensuring reliable vascular access with minimal training.
