JOE is a xanthene dye, fluorescein derivative possessing two chloro and two methoxy substituents. This fluorophore is a useful label for oligonucleotides. Its absorption and emission spectra are located between FAM and TAMRA. The fluorophore can be introduced into oligonucleotide using this phosphoramidite.
