Nano-Micro has developed monodisperse gel bead used for gel permeation separation of lipophilic polymers and hydrophobic molecules in the presence of organic solvents. NM-Gel Beads are styrene and divinylbenzne copolymer, which is non porous gel beads in dry state, but becomes porous matrix after swelling in suitable organic solvents. The pore dimension or exclusion limits depend on the crosslinking level and eluant employed. NM-Gel Beads are available with crosslinkages from 1-12% and have exclusion limits ranging from 400-14000 daltons. The monodispersed gel beads with precisely controlled diameter offer high separation resolution of lipophilic polymer and oligomers., with low back pressure and minimal elution volume in comparison with the currently commercial available sorbents, The beads are typically used with benzene, toluene, xylene, carbon tetrachloride, cyclohexane, tetrahydrofuran, dimethylformamide, ketones, methylene chloride and mixtures of solvents. Complete swelling is necessary before packing in the column and running the chromatography applications.
