Test principle
The basis of the test is on the competitive enzyme immunoassay for the detection of Trimethoprim in the chicken , pork, milk, honey, egg, etc. The microtiter wells are coated with anti-Trimethoprim antibody. Trimethoprim enzyme conjugate and the standards or sample solution are added. Free Trimethoprim antibody and enzyme conjugate compete for the Trimethoprim antibody binding sites (competitive enzyme immunoassay). Any unbound enzyme conjugate is then removed in a washing step. Substrate is added to the wells, bound enzyme conjugate converts the colorless chromogen into a blue product. The addition of the stop reagent leads to a color change from blue to yellow. The depth of the color shows the magnitude of Trimethoprim in the sample.The measurement is made photometrically at 450nm. According to the absorbance, the concentration of Trimethoprim in the sample can be quantified.
