This kit is excellent for the extraction of DNA from a great variety of food samples, including raw ingredients, cooked ingredients and finished products.

Primary principle
Food sample is first mechanically disrupted and then lysed by addition of binding solution/protease K. Then the debris and precipitates are removed by centrifugation. Binding buffer and ethanol are added to the cleared lysate to promote binding of the DNA to the unique silica membrane. The sample is then applied to a spin column and centrifuged. DNA binds to the membrane. It generates high-quality DNA that can be used in downstream applications, such as sensitive DNA-based detection of genetically modified crops in various materials.
