Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Receptor Antibodies. The family of autoantibodies known as TSH Receptor Antibodies is comprised of two members. Firstly, Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulins (TSI) which is characteristic of Graves disease, and is detected using an invitro bioassay. Secondly, Thyrotropin Binding Inhibitory Immunoglobulins (TBII) which compete, with thyrotropin, for binding to the receptor without necessarily leading to its stimulation.
Rat Thyroid stimulating hormone receptor antidoby (TRAb) ELISA Kit employs the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TRAb. Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated TRAb and incubated. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled TRAb and unlabeled TRAb with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of TRAb in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
