MLANA (Melan-A) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with MLANA include Microphthalmia and Uveal Melanoma. Involved in melanosome biogenesis by ensuring the stability of GPR143. Plays a vital role in the expression, stability, trafficking, and processing of melanocyte protein PMEL, which is critical to the formation of stage II melanosomes.
Human Melanoma antigen recognized by T-cells 1 (MLANA) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MLANA in samples. An antibody specific for MLANA has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMLANA present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MLANA is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MLANA bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
