BIOTECHNICA/LABVOLUTION 2015 (6 - 8 Oct., Tues. - Thurs.):
– Highlight: smartLAB special display at LABVOLUTION
– BIOTECHNICA Plaza unites previous marketplaces
– Free partnering tool enables meetings to be scheduled effectively
Hannover. Just a few weeks from now will see the premiere of trade fair duo BIOTECHNICA and LABVOLUTION 2015. BIOTECHNICA, Europe's number one event for biotechnology and life sciences, will feature the new BIOTECHNICA Plaza – the central location for the show's key displays Bioeconomy, Personalized Medicine Technologies and Bio-IT. Also making its debut at the trade show is the new free online partnering tool. This is all underpinned by an extensive conference program featuring presentations from science and industry. From 6 to 8 October 2015 BIOTECHNICA will for the first time take place in tandem with the new trade show LABVOLUTION, which showcases the entire spectrum of laboratory technology for business sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical technology, environmental engineering, quality control and the food industry.
Networking and knowledge sharing are among the most important topics at BIOTECHNICA 2015, as a glance at the BIOTECHNICA Plaza shows. Incorporating an exhibition, forum and networking area, the Plaza is the focal point of the trade fair. It brings together three marketplaces: Bioeconomy, Personalized Medicine Technologies and, making its debut, Bio-IT.
Deutsche Messe AG has also teamed up with the EBD Group, the market leader in the area of partnering for the life sciences industry, to offer a free partnering tool that exhibitors and visitors can use in the run-up to the trade fair so that they can quickly and easily schedule meetings at the event. No costs are involved; users simply need to register. The software tool is based on partnering360, a professional network organized by the EBD Group that unites some 30,000 members from the life sciences sector. More information can be obtained athttp://www.biotechnica.de/en/partnering
One of the highlights of the event will be the gala reception on the evening of the first day of the trade fair. The reception will feature the following speakers: Professor Dr. Nils Hoppe, spokesperson of the Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences (CELLS) at Leibniz University Hannover, Dr. Werner Eberhardt, Vice President Healthcare Development at SAP SE and – for the presentation of the EUROPEAN BIOTECHNICA AWARD – Dr. Karsten Henco, Chairman of the Board at HS LifeSciences GmbH.
The 2015 conference program covers a broad range of current topics in research and industry. In addition to the marketplace forums at the BIOTECHNICA Plaza (Stand C55), the Life Science Spotlight Forum (Stand F51) focuses on a different topic – Personalized Medicine, Lab Automation and Systems Biology – on each of the three days of the trade fair. A new addition to the program is the symposium "Breeding 3.0 – crop plants for the future" (Stand F51) on Thursday 8 October, organized by the Wissenschaftskreis Grüne Gentechnik [Green Genetic Engineering scientific group]. The term Breeding 3.0 refers to the application of brand-new molecular biology methods to improve the adaptation of crops to sites using targeted mutagenesis within conventional or genetic engineering breeding processes. The forum will examine these new molecular biology methods and the host of potential applications – not just in plant breeding.
The topic of innovative lab technology is at the heart of the new special display smartLAB – the intelligent laboratory of the future (Stand E67) with an accompanying forum at LABVOLUTION, where a fully networked prototype lab will be set up and shown in various use cases. Alongside live shows, the smartLAB forum program will feature panel discussions, presentations by smartLAB partners and lab speed dating.
European Lab Automation (ELA), Europe's largest laboratory automation conference, is also part of LABVOLUTION. Taking place in the Convention Center, ELA incorporates three conference tracks: Lab Automation & Robotics, Personalized Medicine Technology and Genome Engineering.
Furthermore, the Innovation Forum (Stand F51) will play host to company presentations from BIOTECHNICA and LABVOLUTION, while the topics of career and training are covered by the jobvector career day (8 October, Stand C03), BIOTechnikum (Stand B75) and the lab training opportunities offered by Dr. Klinkner & Partner (Convention Center).
BIOTECHNICA and LABVOLUTION 2015
From 6 to 8 October 2015 Deutsche Messe is for the first time staging the two trade fairs BIOTECHNICA and LABVOLUTION in parallel at the Hannover Exhibition Center. For 30 years now BIOTECHNICA has been the premier trade fair for biotechnology and the life sciences in Germany and Europe. It covers the entire value-adding chain in the biotech sector – from basic scientific research to the finished product. The BIOTECHNICA PLAZA features dedicated “marketplaces” on Bioeconomy, Personalized Medicine Technologies and Bio-IT, thus covering all the hottest topics in the biotech sector. LABVOLUTION is celebrating its premiere in 2015. The new trade show presents the complete range of laboratory equipment and technology for research labs, analytical labs, production labs and training labs. Laboratory technology for the biotech and life sciences industry has always been an important theme at BIOTECHNICA. LABVOLUTION will now showcase laboratory technology for many other key markets: the chemical industry, the pharmaceutical industry, medicine, plastics, materials development and materials testing, cosmetics, medical technology, environmental engineering and the food industry. One ticket is valid for entry to both trade shows.
