Brucellosis is a bacterial infection that spreads from animals to people — most often via unpasteurized milk, cheese and other dairy products. More rarely, the bacteria that cause brucellosis can spread through the air or through direct contact with infected animals.
Brucellosis symptoms may include fever, joint pain and fatigue. The infection can usually be treated successfully with antibiotics. Treatment takes several weeks to months, however, and relapses are common.
In order to detect brucellosis and control this disease in bovine or goat species, scientists from Wuhan Ecalbio Co.,Ltd develop new assay method to detect Brucella antibody in blood or serum of bovine and goat, it only take about 15 min , can screen lots of samples one time.
Principle of Bovine Brucella Ab Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and C (control) zone. When sample is applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow on the surface of the test strip. If there is enough B. Brucella antibodies in the sample, a visible T band will appear. The C band should always appear after a sample is applied, indicating a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Bovine Brucella antibodies in the sample.
Result analysis
Positive: The presence of both “C” band and “T” band, no matter T band
Negative: Only clear C band appears.
Invalid: No colored band appears in C zone, no matter whether T band appears.
