Academy of Translational Medicine Professionals launched Professional Certification Program in Translational Medicine

The Academy of Translational Medicine Professionals has launched Professional Certification Program in Translational Medicine. Professional Certification in Translational Medicine (PCTM) program is designed by the Academy of Translational Medicine Professionals (ATMP) to set the standards for excellence in field of translational medicine and to promote and maintain high quality in clinical research through the evaluation of the applicant’s translational medicine knowledge and track record.

Clinicians and graduates holding degrees or having experience in relevant disciplines can apply for the certification program. Based on applicants documented training and experience evaluation, applicants are assigned category one or category two. Parameters of evaluation include: number and quality (impact factor) of publications, duration and type of international experience, biomedical grants personally supervised, presentations and participation in international biomedical conferences.

Category one is for junior clinicians, investigators and graduates holding degrees with less than three years experience who must successfully complete the online qualifying examination in order to receive the certification. Qualifying examination for category one applicant will evaluate the applicant’s knowledge in themes and topics relevant to translational medicine such as Biomarkers, Omics Sciences, Data Management, Clinical Trials Knowledge, Disease modelling concepts and approaches in Community & Preventive Medicine.

Category two is for Professionals with 3 more years of relevant extensive experience. Applicants within this category will receive certification based on evaluation of their track records and experience without qualifying examination.

Professional Certification in Translational Medicine (PCTM) program is accredited by the European Society for Translational Medicine (EUSTM) and the Global Translational Medicine Consortium (GTMC).
