Hits:108   Date: 11/8/2010

Ho Chi Minh City / Munich , – Following its successful premiere in 2009, the second edition of analytica Vietnam is being held from April 7 – 9, 2011. For the first time ever, the Vietnamese spin-off of the international trade fair analytica is being held at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City in 2011. The new location will strengthen analytica’s presence on the Vietnamese market and further expand its network in Asia . Several of the industry’s leading manufacturers such as Merck, JSC, Shimadzu, Saigon Instrument and Tramat have already registered for the fair. analytica Vietnam 2011 is organized by Messe München International (MMI) and its subsidiary IMAG (International Fair and Exhibition Service) in conjunction with the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (NASATI).

A total of 107 companies from eleven countries and more than 3,000 visitors gathered for the premiere of analytica Vietnam in 2009. "The positive response showed us that the decision to expand the analytica network in the Southeast Asian region with a separate location in Vietnam was the right one," explains Susanne Grödl, Exhibition Director for analytica. The fact that the analysis, laboratory technology and biotechnology industry needs a suitable exhibition platform is underscored by the number of companies that have already registered for the fair. Besides large, international key players, several small and medium-sized enterprises such as 2H , Andreas Hettich, Biobase and ILS will also be represented in Ho Chi Minh City in 2011. A German and a French joint exhibit are also planned.

New location

"The primary reason for changing locations is the concentrated economic strength in Ho Chi Minh City “, explains Grödl. "Several key branches of industry that are important to analytica Vietnam such as the chemicals and food industries are located here." Thanks to this strong economic presence, 20 percent of the countries gross domestic product and 40 percent of all Vietnamese exports are produced in the South Vietnamese metropolis. In addition, 33 percent of the national budget and 60 percent of all foreign investments flow into this region. During the past year, the economic growth rate in the region was approximately ten percent, compared to a national average of just six percent.

Growth market Vietnam

Economic growth in Vietnam remains very promising. Imports of laboratory equipment and in the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry were worth a total of 17 billion US dollars in 2009 and 8.8 US dollars in the first half of 2010. Biotechnology also has a great deal of future potential. The province of Dong Nai , for example, is planning to build a new biotechnology center to promote development of this high-tech industry on the one hand and to pull in some 500 million US dollars in investments during the next ten years on the other. The state is expected to subsidize the pharmaceuticals industry to the tune of 11 million euros between now and 2015. Some 30 million euros will be invested in research projects in the environmental sector over the next few years.

analytica Vietnam Conference

analytica Vietnam will be accompanied by a scientific conference with first-rate speakers again in 2011. Prominent international and Vietnamese scientists will present their current studies and the latest research and development trends in the analysis, laboratory technology and biotechnology sectors.
