2nd Guangzhou Int’l Forum on the Frontier of Stem Cell and Regeneration Biology

The 2nd Guangzhou International Forum on the Frontier of Stem Cell and Regeneration Biology will be held at Guangzhou, December16th to 18th, 2009.

The forum will focus on the following topics: reprogramming of stem cell, chemical biology research in regeneration biology, applied research in embryonic and somatic stem cells, iPS and HTS techonology in new drug R&D, development and mode animal research, stem cell biology and cloning. The Forum will invite members of the CAS Overseas Innovation Team on stem cells and cloning, expert panel members of the national key project on Development and Procreation, the nation’s 973 Project chief scientists and other professionals of the area from all over the world.

This forum is sponsored by the Department of Basic Research, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Institute of Life Sciences and Biological Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province, the Science and Technology Department of Guangzhou Municipal Government and the Chinese Society for Cell Biology. The organizer is the Guangzhou Institute of Biomedicine and Health, CAS, with the support of Guangzhou Biological Engineering Center.

Introduction

The stem cell and regeneration biology is one of the fields that develops most rapidly and draws the most attention in modern biology. Much cornerstone progress has been achieved recently in this area. The stem cell and regeneration biology technology having playing an important rold and will accelerate research on developmental biology, new gene discovery, gene functional analysis to organizational organ transplant, cell therapy, drug R&D, etc., for which reasons, many countries have given high priority to it.

To promote the development of stem cell and regeneration biology in our country, the Department of Basic Research, Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Institute of Life Sciences and Biological Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province and Science and Technology Department of Guangzhou Municipal Government worked together to have successfully launched the 1st Guangzhou International Forum on the Frontier of Stem Cell and Regeneration Biology in December, 2008. ??Over 250 representatives from well-known research institutions and universities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as from the US attended the forum.

2nd Guangzhou International Forum on the Frontier of Stem Cell and Regeneration Biology will invite members of the CAS Overseas Innovation Team on stem cells and cloning, expert panel members of the national key project on Development and Procreation, the nation’s 973 Project chief scientists and other professionals of the area from all over the world.

The forum will focus on the following topics: reprogramming of stem cell, chemical biology research in regeneration biology, applied research in embryonic and somatic stem cells, iPS and HTS techonology in new drug R&D, development and mode animal research, stem cell biology and cloning.

Guangzhou International Forum on the Frontier of Stem Cell and Regeneration Biology will be hosted in Guangzhou on an annual basis, which is going to be branded, for the sake of improving collaboration and communication in the field of stem cell and regeneration biology, raising the national level of this field in our country and push forward related industry’s development.

2. Paper assessment
One First Prize, three Second Prizes and five Third Prizes will be set for the submitted papers.

3. Paper requirements
（1）Papers to be submitted should accord with the conference theme, and haven’t been published in any journals;
（2）The paper should contain the title; an abstract (no more than 200 characters); 3-5 key words (separated by one space in between); the body; the reference; and finally the author’s information (name, institution, address, post code and email address).

（3）The article is in whole within four pages in A4 (Dimension:150*210). It is supposed to be an intact paper with data and results, briefing research objective, research method, data results, main point and conclusion. No subtitle is needed in the text of the body. .Charts and graphs should be simple, straightforward and clear in the text. Charts and graphs should be noted in English, beneath it; Charts should be clear with bar or magnification.

4.Submitted deadline：
Please submit your paper to xu_yulan@gibh.ac.cn by July.1, 2009 (titled with with the persenter’s name, and only WORD is accepted; and please specify on the title of the email with the conference name ).

5. We will inform you within August, 2009, if your paper is admitted ??And we will have you make it into a poster for the prize assessment. Poster size: 1100 mm* 800 mm, in type, one page only.
