First announcement and call for abstracts

It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 14th Meeting of the Chinese Life Scientists Society in the UK (CLSS-UK). The scientific programme which has been drawn up is strong and varied. Our invited speakers are of international standing and come from a wide range of disciplines, reflecting the broad interests of our society. We anticipate that the science presented at the meeting will be enlightening, informative and stimulating for life scientists. We particularly encourage young investigators and Ph D students to join the meeting by offering young investigator awards, travel bursaries and prizes for the best oral and poster presentations. We will support young investigators via career development workshops and working experience networks.
Oxford University is the oldest university in the English-speaking world and is a unique and historic institution. Travelling to Oxford is easy and convenient via bus, rail networks and from airports. We hope that you will come and join us for what promises to be a stimulating and informative meeting of the CLSS-UK and we look forward to welcoming you in Oxford.

Call for abstracts
The CLSS-UK committee invites authors to submit abstracts for consideration and inclusion in the Scientific Programme not later than on 15 June 2008 (the official language of this meeting is English for abstracts, presentation and publication).
Venue
The 14th Meeting of CLSS-UK will take place in St. Annes College, University of Oxford, Oxford, from 13-14 September, 2008.
Registration and Accommodation
The meeting will take place at the Mary Ogilvie Theatre at St Annes College. St Annes college is a short walk (10 minutes) from the Central Bus Station and (15 minutes) from the Oxford Railway Station. Accommodation will be arranged in the College (Single rooms, single rooms en suite and some double rooms).
