About the Asia-Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering: 

The Asia-Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering (APCChE) is the confederation of chemical engineering groups in Asian and Asia-Pacific region, whose objective is to build up and keep association between the chemical engineering groups, bring benefit to human beings through chemical engineering; to organize the International Chemical Engineering Meeting with other (continental) confederations; to promote the exchange and share of information and practice concerning chemical engineering; to stimulate the communication of chemical engineers from different countries within the confederation. The Asia-Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Meeting is an important activity of APCChE, which is held every two years. As the 11th session, the meeting is well renowned both in Asia-Pacific region and chemical engineering circles across the world. China, as its 13th member, took part in this confederation in 2004.

 

The 10th Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Meeting, with the sustainable development technology of human beings as its theme, was held in Kitakyushu International Conference Centre in Japan. The meeting consisted of mainly three parts: the report in the meeting, special seminars and wall papers. The report concerned three aspects: the chemical missions in pioneering new chemical engineering technology, the challenge faced by chemical engineers—to make a sustainable future come true through green technology in this ever-developing Asia-Pacific region, chemical engineering education—a global standard and a strategy for future. The special seminars covered 14 other aspects, such as biological technology, energy resource, extra-critical fluid, security, electron, material and exterior science, chemical reaction engineering, fluid and particle process, system information and simulation technology, physical characteristics and physical chemistry, separation process, and calorific engineering. The 11th session was held in Malaysia in 2006, and the 12th in China. According to the institution, the deputy chairman of the 11th session and the chairman of the 12th session were sent successively by Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China. Through APCChE, we are working to strengthen the communication and cooperation with the outside, so as to promote the progress and development of Chinese chemical engineering science and technology.

 

About the CIESC:

The CIESC, Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, was founded on April 23, 1922. It is a legitimate, non-profit, and academic social entity formed voluntarily by chemical science workers across the nation. As an essential part of the Science Association of China, it holds a significant position in the development of chemical science in China.

The CIESC, with solidification and organization of its members, takes the economic development as its central task,  holding that science and technology is the primary productive force, carrying out the policy of rejuvenating the nation with science and education and the sustainable development strategy, stimulating the development and prosperity of chemical industry, promoting the popularization of chemical science and technology, cultivating more chemical science and technology workers and improving their academic level, accelerating the combination of science, technology with economy, and serving the socialist material and spiritual civilization. There are 19 branches (academic committees) under the CIESC. Chemical societies in every province, autonomic regions and directly governed cities are under the    guidance of CIESC in academic profession.

The CIESC is of great prestige in the field of chemical industry nation-wide and internationally. It had organized many academic seminars all over the world and had held successfully the "AchemAsia" cooperating with the DECHEMA e.V., which is an academic expo with the largest scale and highest level in China, but also among the top all over the world.

 

About the ever-growing potential chemical market in China:

As a pillar industry in the national economy, the chemical industry is closely related with other fields of the national economy and people's life. Despite that the chemical industry is energy-consuming and waste-producing, it is of great importance in national economy as well as in people's daily life. After fifty years of development, the chemical industrial system in China now can cover extensive fields with a comparatively complete category, a generally completely merchandized set of assortment and can basically meet the domestic demand. A series of production equipment of advanced level has been established. As a result, the Chinese chemical market ranks among the top ones in the world according to the amount of production and sale. According to statistics, the total volume of the chemical market in China amounts to more than 100 billion Yuan, nearly 10% of the GDP, and thus makes the chemical industry the biggest one in China. However, there are also vital disadvantages in the industry. For example, the efficiency of the whole industry is rather low compared with the huge input, large consumption and serious pollution. Even though the domestic demand is large, the productivity is rather low comparatively. The deficiency in the productivity provides a tremendous market for chemical manufacturers overseas. Many chemical giants over the world have begun to establish research and development departments in China with the purpose of supporting their long term development in this area. Meanwhile, they have increased the amount of investment here. The ever-growing and promising chemical market in China has provided a precious opportunity for multinational chemical corporations for their sustainable development. The Period of the Eleventh Five Plan (2006-2010) is significant in the cause of establishing a comprehensive well-off society in China. As the national economy develops steadily and healthily, the chemical industry as a pillar industry will play a more important role. ﹡Exhibition flow：

1. Please fill out "Contract of Exhibition Participation" carefully, seal it and mail or fax it to the sponsor. And the fee for the participation is to be remitted to the designated account within five working days, with the copy of the remittance record faxed to the undertaking organization in order to affirm the participation.

2. The arrangement of the stand will be carried out according to the

"the early bird catches the worm" principle. Manufacturers who have entered their names but fail to pay timely are regarded as canceling their participation application automatically by the host organization and their booked stands are not to be reserved. The host organization reserves the right of the final adjustment.

3. The host organization will send the participators the announcement of participation after it receives the return receipt and charges for the participation.
