Successful Premiere of BIOTECH CHINA 2007

International Trade Fair & Congress For Biotechnology - in Shanghai
The new BIOTECH CHINA as a member of the global BIOTECHNICA family celebrated its successful premiere in the Shanghai Exhibition Center INTEX from July 4 - 6, 2007 in the growth market China.

The Asian offshoot of BIOTECHNICA, Europe's largest biotech event consisting of Trade Fair, Conferences, Partnering, and Award in Hannover, registered a successful launch event with the combination of 3-day trade show, Innovations Forum, and the 2-day congress BIO-FORUM welcoming a total of 134 exhibitors from 17 countries and 4,853 professional trade visitors from 19 nations.
The scientific congress BIO-FORUM, which took place in the nearby Galaxy Hotel, registered an attendance of 700 delegates.

The cooperative venture of Deutsche Messe, Shanghai Technology Convention & Exhibition Co. Ltd. (STCEC) and World Expo Group Shanghai Modern International Exhibition Co. Ltd. (SMIE) and their well-established international biotech brands

BIOTECHNICA ASIA,

BIO-FORUM

offered exhibitors and trade visitors a comprehensive overview on product and application areas of the biotech and pharma industry. Market leaders like Millipore, Qiagen, Sartorius, Whatman, PerkinElmer, and Corning used the business and networking platform of BIOTECH CHINA to further develop and expand the access to the rapidly growing Asian business and the contacts to the local market of the fourth largest trading nation of the world.

Enriched by close cooperation between government authorities, research institutes and biotech associations, representatives of the Shanghai Administration congratulated the organizers of BIOTECH CHINA on the successful first event which will take place annually, in the upcoming year from May 28 - 30.

For 2008, BIOTECH CHINA has been included in the Foreign Trade Show Support Programme of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology, which supports the participation of German companies in China's most important economic hub by organizing a German joint pavilion.
