ShanghaiTech University was founded in 2012 under the sponsorship of China’s Ministry of Education and the Chinese Academy of Sciences as a Research Institution pursuing excellence in Science & Engineering and Management Science. It consists of four Schools and two Institutes, one of which is the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS). The Institute aims to become a leading antibody research institute in the world, and is building a state-of-the-art research organization focused on the elucidation of the most fundamental problems in life science research. It has established nine laboratories that cover all areas of antibody research, spanning over a series of related topics in cell biology and biochemistry.
To celebrate the establishment of the institute and the collocation of Amgen R&D center in STU campus, the Scientific Governance Board of the SIAIS has decided to cooperate with Amgen Biopharmaceutical R&D (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. in the organization of the ShanghaiTech-SIAIS BioForum 2014. The topic chosen for the BioForum is Cellular Processing of Information. It is planed to organize the ShanghaiTech-SIAIS BioForum on a topic of this type each year. The venue of the BioForum will be the Shanghai Science Hall. The BioForum will last 3.5 days, from November 17 through 20 of this year, and will offer a high level panorama of modern developments in this very exciting and all-encompassing area. The Scientific Governance Board of the Institute, as a pleasure to welcome all interested scientists to the ShanghaiTech-SIAIS BioForum 2014.
At the end of the Symposium, a one-day BBRC Author Workshop (www.elsevier.com ) ;(www.elsevier.com/locate/ybbrc ) will be organized on November 21, to discuss scholarly publishing procedures and research and publication ethics.
