Swedish bio-development organization Uppsala Bio is putting out a call for new multi-disciplinary projects for the company’s BIO-X program, which promotes research projects in the Uppsala region, the group said last week.
Uppsala said the new project will be funded with SEK 2 million ($2.8 million) per year, and will receive “substantial management and IP support, as well as access to a broad network of industrial and academic expertise.”
The organization seeks projects involving diagnostic tools and predictive medicinal projects and early or late-stage drug-discovery programs.
Uppsala said its projects to date have started in academia, but said it is interested in industry-initiated efforts that through collaboration with academic groups.
Submissions are due April 10.
