After a scrutiny of a panel of experts, the establishment of the Key Laboratory of Marine Bio-recourses Sustainable Utilization has recently been approved by CAS. Affiliated to the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, the new lab will be focused on marine bio-resources, biotechnology for sea water culture and marine drugs. Over the past years, the institute has recruited and trained a group of young and middle-aged research professionals and conducted a number of major research tasks and scored high-level achievements in the fields.
