2000+ meetings drive growth of Asian BioPharma Industry

Hits:975   Date: 4/5/2012
Over 2500 attendees visited the four day BioPharma Asia Convention and connected across the Asian Biopharmaceutical value chain. The delegates and over 200 speakers included leading executives from global and Asian pharmas, biotechs and key industry experts. Over 2000 meetings were formed driving the industry’s rapid growth and expansion across Asia.

A intensive programme with a strategic focus gave industry leaders the opportunity to connect over features such as the BioPharma Asia Industry Awards & the CEO breakfast forum featuring high level dignitaries such as Irish cabinet minister Brendan Howlin and the Ambassadors of the US, Germany and South Korea.

Business opportunities at the convention reflected the growing opportunities in the region which 85 exhibitors were able to leverage on.
PRA, a leading international contract research organisation found the convention to be “A great platform for market exposure, contact and lead identification within Asia Pacific”.

Kibow Biotech, visiting from the US to share expertise and discover the potential in Asia found the event to be a “very well organised conference and well executed!”

Katrina Leung, General Manager of Terrapinn and in charge of the Convention has seen consistent growth over the years and sees this as a indication of things to come. “From the beginning of the BioPharma Asia Convention 5 years ago, it has consistently grown from year to year. With no end in sight for growth in Asia, I see the importance of such a cross regional event becoming even more significant. Asia is such a big and diverse place that it is really difficult to find a cross section of the BioPharma value chain from Australia to China. The BioPharma Asia Convention really is unique in offering such possibilities”.

Given the tremendous success of the BioPharma Asia Convention and the continuous and significant growth in the industry, plans for 2013 naturally encompass a larger convention drawing in even stronger key players from East Asia. The dates for 2013 are 18th-21st March at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Further quotes from this year’s BioPharma Asia Convention participants and sponsors:

This is the first time to attend...I am impressed with the range of speakers, the quality and depth of the presentations, and importantly, the networking which I have been able to achieve in two and a half days. ... And I also have been to be able to meet people whom... I wouldn’t be able connect with until I came to this conference. It has been extremely helpful. Paul Coleman, CEO, Bio Business Unit Hanwha Chemical
The conference is very well organized, with a well informed agenda and good networking opportunities. ... I learnt a lot during the process. I also had the opportunity to develop networking relationships with the delegates... and hope to participate again very soon.
Seong-Choon, Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, Hanall Biopharma

It is very important that we have business partners in all the regions and the BioPharma Asia Convention can be a good bridge to the customers and we can introduce new products and solutions.
Stefan Egli, President, Pall Life Sciences
