Background:

The application of modern high-throughput screening (HTS) techniques in drug discovery led to increasing brick dust candidates which had to be developed by formulation scientist. Novel drug delivery technologies have been playing a significant role in enhancing solubility and bioavailability, as well as formulation development. Innovative drug delivery systems also provide solutions for burgeoning biologics which by their nature are difficult to administer. Advanced drug delivery systems are not only revolutionizing the development of protein, vaccine and insulin drugs but also shaping new RNAi and targeted cancer therapies.

 

Facing patent cliff, many research-based pharmaceutical companies are utilizing novel drug delivery technologies to maximizing successful drug patent lives.
