About BioChina

China Bioindustry Convention (BioChina), initiated in 2007, is the largest annual event for the biotechnology industry in China. It attracts the biggest names in the biotech sector, offers key networking and partnering opportunities, and provides insights and inspiration on the major trends affecting the development of bioindustry. BioChina 2011, which is jointly hosted by Chinese Society of Biotechnology and other seventeen national associations, and the People’s Government of Shenzhen, is the Forth of this Series. BioChina 2011 will be held on June 17-19, 2011, in Shenzhen, China.

China has just seen double-digit growth in its biotechnology industry and has gone from being one of the slowest to one of the fastest nations in the adoption of new biotechnologies. The biotechnology sector in China is seen as a strategic core area for development of bioeconomy, due to its potential to ease the food crisis, combat disease and hereditary problems. The State Council of China has publicized measures in June 2009, which deal with policies for boosting the development of biotechnology industry in China, covering technology innovation, funding support and preferential tax incentives.

Distinguished high-level officials, eminent entrepreneur and famous scientists will attend the convention, all aiming to establish constructive dialogues on Policies, Health, Food, Agriculture, Industry and Environment, as well as to exchange remarkable information in the biotechnology field. There will be at least 1500 attendees from China, USA, Canada, German, UK, France, Japan, Australia, Korea and other countries.

Alongside this significant event, an exhibition with an area of 15,000 m2 will be held. BioChina 2011 will attract China’s Top 100 bioindustry enterprises and offer a unique platform for top enterprises, research organizations, and investment and financing institutions in biotechnology, agricultural, environmental, pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors to meet and share the latest technological and commercial developments, providing a unique opportunity for business partnering.
