Building on the success on 2010’s inaugural Poster Hall Award, the organisers of Europe’s BioProcess International Conference are excited to continue supporting and recognizing the significant educational contribution poster presentations provide the industry with the 2011 BPI Conference Best Poster Award.
All posters submitted by March 31, 2011 and displayed at the BioProcess International Europe Congress 2011 taking place 6-7 April, 2011 in Nice, France, will be eligible for this recognition.
Posters will be reviewed and judged by BPI Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief and BPI’s Scientific Advisory Board with two winning posters announced at the conference, one from academic/industry and the other from a supplier.
The two winning posters will be published at no charge in BioProcess International’s November 2011 Poster Hall Supplement. The 2011 Poster Hall Supplement is a compilation of process technologies and expertise, categorized by technology. It will be published in tabloid format as a supplement to BPI’s November issue, then housed as an interactive online experience for a full year on BPI’s website. Poster abstracts must be submitted online by March 31, 2011 and displayed at the conference to be considered. For more information, please contact Daniel Barry at +44 (0) 20 7017 6978 or email daniel.barry@informa.com

As part of this year's email schedule the expert speaker faculty have compiled a 'recommended reading list' for the BioProcess International European event. See below for a breakdown of related articles for each of the 5 conference streams providing an excellent insight into the topics that will be covered in the 2011 programme.
Programme Highlights
Manufacturing, Process Optimisation, Managing Costs and QbD
* Elan, Sandoz and leading European Regulatory Representatives discuss the latest challenges facing biomanufacturing, the rise of biosimilars and biobetters, and how regulations have evolved, and will continue to evolve, over the next few years.
* Keep up-to-date with the impending Process Validation FDA Guidance Document and how this will impact your business. Genentech share their thoughts and the company's strategy to demonstrate enhanced process knowledge and understanding
Cell Culture and Upstream Processing
* Martin Jordan, Director at Merck is returning in 2011 to make a new presentation on the current challenges and opportunities industry is facing with high throughput media development.
* Genmab present a real-life case study on fine-tuning antibody glycosylation to a comparable product and Genentech reveal their recent work on enhanced nutrient feeding to reach high titres Recovery and Purification
* Examine the use of lean development in early purification to decrease time to clinic; hear case studies on mAbs and antibody fragments from UCB, Genentech and UCL
* Learn how to successfully integrate upstream and downstream processing with a keynote presentation from Professor Mike Butler, University of Manitoba, Canada; overcome common challenges and improve timelines
Formulation, Aggregation, Sub-visible Particles
* Eli Lilly, Bristol Myers Squibb and NovImmune share their experiences on detecting and characterising sub visible particles, and Wim Jiskoot, University of Leiden, reveals the latest in subsequent aggregation and immunogenicity concerns
* Strategies for predicting and managing high concentration formulations will be discussed by Genentech and Roche, highlighting the utility and limitations of using various biophysical tools
Analytical Methods, ADCs, Biosimilars, PAT
* Overcome the analytical challenges needed to bring biosimilars to the market - Sandoz' Head of Technical Development, Andreas Premstaller, discusses the company's plans in the market and the potential of biobetters. Reliance Genemedix also reveals its strategy for developing biosimilars
* Discover the latest analytical difficulties when developing pre-filled syringes and autoinjectors - Roche and Novartis preview unpublished data at BPI Europe 2011
