LAB INDONESIA 2026 OFFICIALLY OPENS, SHOWCASES 900+ GLOBAL INNOVATIONS AND INTERACTIVE PROGRAMS TO STRENGTHEN THE NATIONAL LABORATORY ECOSYSTEM

Tangerang, 15 April 2026 - As expectations for global health standards and testing quality continue to rise, laboratories are becoming an increasingly important pillar in maintaining industrial competitiveness and market trust. In response to this need, Lab Indonesia 2026 officially opened today in Hall 5-7 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City and will run from 15-17 April 2026.

Carrying the theme “Shaping the Future of Indonesia’s Laboratory Industry: Innovation, Standards, and Global Competitiveness,” Lab Indonesia 2026 features 305 companies from 16 countries/regions — China, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States — along with four international pavilions form China, Germany, Malaysia, and South Korea. Showcasing 921 laboratory technologies and solutions from 32 countries, the exhibition will also host 205 trade buyers and is expected to attract 15,000 professional visitors.

In its 8th edition, Indonesia’s largest laboratory and chemical products exhibition for the medical, pharmaceutical, education, and scientific research sector, convenes industry players, researchers, academics, regulators, and laboratory technology providers on a collaborative platform. At the exhibition, a range of technologies displayed encompasses analytical systems, biotechnology and life sciences, and laboratory instruments, as well as solutions for laboratory consumables, testing, research and development, and quality assurance and control. Together, they reflect the importance and growing demand for more precise, efficient, and integrated testing systems across strategic industries.

Kristi Wulandari, Deputy Event Director of PT Pamerindo Indonesia, noted that Lab Indonesia 2026 not only serves as a showcase for technological advancements but also offers a comprehensive experience for industry stakeholders, particularly through strong international participation that reinforces Indonesia’s position as a strategic market. “Lab Indonesia continues to grow as a platform that connects global innovation with the needs of industries in Indonesia. In this eighth edition, we are presenting a larger scale, more diverse programs, and strategic collaborations that open up new opportunities for industry players, academics, and professionals to network and grow,” she said.

A series of featured programs returns this year, including 21 LabForum sessions (International Scientific Conference) and 135 LabTalk sessions (Technical Seminars, Industry Workshops & Live Demonstrations). These programs provide platforms for knowledge exchange and discussions on technological developments, standards, and sustainable laboratory practices relevant to future industry needs. In addition, One-to-One Business Matching sessions are organized to encourage strategic partnerships and collaborations among industry stakeholders.

Head of BRIN’s Nanotechnology and Materials Research Organisation of The National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BRIN), Prof. Dr. Ratno Nuryadi, M.Eng., emphasized the importance of collaboration, discussions, and knowledge exchange among stakeholders to strengthen the research and laboratory industry ecosystem.

“Advancements in research and industry are highly dependent on the quality of laboratory infrastructure, access to cutting-edge technology, and connectivity among industry players. Through Lab Indonesia, we aim to accelerate the adoption of new technologies, strengthen human capital, and open up more opportunities for strategic collaboration between researchers, industry, and government. This forms a critical foundation in building Indonesia’s technological independence,” stated at the opening of Lab Indonesia 2026.

He further highlighted that Lab Indonesia plays an important role within the national innovation ecosystem. “The research, innovation, and high-technology-based industry sectors can contribute significantly to achieving the Astacita vision, while aligning with the national research roadmap developed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. In addition, in line with the National Industrial Development Master Plan (RIPIN) by the Ministry of Industry, reliable laboratory support is essential for strengthening high-technology-based manufacturing industries.”

BRIN’s support and contributions can also be seen firsthand at the Research & Innovation Hub section, where visitors can explore the latest innovations, such as nanotechnology-based solutions, including gold nanoparticle applications, and exchange directly with participating researchers and institutions.

As part of strengthening the industry ecosystem, Lab Indonesia 2026 also presents various interactive and educational sustainability programs. One of the highlights is the interactive Learning LabVenture Zone, supported by the LPPOM Laboratory (Institute for the Assessment of Food, Drugs, and Cosmetics). The zone features a “Leather Check” activity that allows visitors to conduct microscopic testing to identify types and structures of leather-based materials.

In addition, the exhibition features the Laboratory Consultation Clinic in collaboration with Politeknik AKA Bogor, offering visitors the opportunity to consult directly on testing requirements and laboratory management.

Visitors can also benefit from the Mobile Health Station, supported by ASLABKESDA (Acceleration of Regional Health Laboratories). This health post offers 22 types of medical screening services to promote preventive healthcare, increase public health awareness, and bring laboratory services closer to the community.

To further enhance visitor experience, Lab Indonesia integrates a Wellness Corner Area, offering various relaxation and health services, including massage therapy supported by the Visually Impaired Massage Community, Terahertz Wave therapy supported by PERMI, and the Wellness Corner Lab Medicine by ILKI (Indonesian Clinic Laboratory Association).

These programs are parts of Lab Indonesia’s commitment to realizing “Step Into the Future of Sustainable Laboratories” by integrating sustainability into industry practices, knowledge exchange, and visitor experiences. Various topics in LabForum and LabTalk will also address issues of resource efficiency, eco-friendly laboratory practices, and cross-sector collaboration. This approach positions sustainability not merely as a concept, but as a tangible practice in the development of a sustainable laboratory ecosystem.

Held in an exhibition area spanning 14,500 square meters with a larger scale, a more diverse program, and broader collaborations, Lab Indonesia 2026 is expected to serve as a significant milestone in strengthening the national laboratory ecosystem and enhancing Indonesia’s competitiveness at the regional and global levels. This exhibition is open to professionals, industry players, academics, regulators, and the public who are focused on advancements in laboratory technology while fostering collaboration opportunities.

Visitors can also take advantage of the Free Shuttle services available at various strategic locations heading to ICE BSD City, located at Rawa Buntu Station, Serpong - South Tangerang; Citywalk Lippo Cikarang, Bekasi; Living Plaza Jababeka, Bekasi; Resinda Park Mall, Karawang; Botani Square, Bogor; Pulogadung Trade Centre, East Jakarta; and Swiss-Belinn Modern Cikande, Serang – Banten.
