Principle：
Mass spectrometry (MS) is the technology of choice for rapidly identifying proteins present in a biological mixture. The primary advantages of MS are high sensitivity, accuracy, and capacity. Tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) provides a means for fragmenting mass-selected precursor peptide ions and measuring the mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) of any product daughter ions. The process usually produces two principle classes of fragment ions, the so-called N- and C-terminal b- and y-type ions respectively. High-quality MS/MS spectra of tryptic peptides typically show prominent b- and y-ion series.
