Spray drying is a fast drying, atomization of liquid materials have large surface area, resulting in higher heat transfer coefficient. Short drying time and temperature suitable material fast and stable, which means spray drying for heat sensitive materials.
Spray drying technology consists of four basic stages:
a. Atomization: liquid material through a nozzle or rotary atomizer atomized into droplets. Pressure or compressed air atomization nozzle with materials, and high-speed rotary atomizer spray atomization wheel.
b. Drying: hot air (air or nitrogen) through the air distributor of raw materials in contact with the spray began to evaporate. Temperature, flow rate, droplet size control the drying process.
c. Particle formation: the rapid evaporation of liquid from the droplets to form solid particles into the drying tower bottom.
d. Recovery: The recovery of the cyclone or bag filter dust emissions. The entire process usually only a few seconds
