Overview:

The tullgren funnels has been used worldwide for over 50 years. It uses dry or wet methods to separate soil organisms from soil samples.

Features:

It allows dry and wet collections. The precision aluminum funnel structure is equipped with a plug in the collection trough to prevent the loss of organisms. The design is simple and easy to operate.
Place the soil or hay sample in the movable upper part of the funnel. The heat and light from the lamp create a temperature gradient of approximately 14°C in the soil sample. This stimulates arthropods and other organisms to move downward through the thin gauze to the collection trough at the bottom of the funnel.
There are air vents around the filter mesh to prevent the soil sample from becoming compacted and hardened.
If wet collection is to be used, fill the funnel with water and place the gauze properly. Nematodes or other swimming organisms are collected at the bottom of the funnel. The bottom can be removed at regular intervals (this method is suitable for collection golden nematodes), and it can done with or without a lamp.
