This A / P Zero appliance can be set electrodes position on the large animal sterotaxic instruments. It includes an A / P rail of 255mm long, with the scale of + 100mm ~ -100mm at 1mm accuracy. This rail is fixed to an aluminum plate (255mmx128mm), and there is a small cylinder aligned to the zero point of the rail, which is co-ordinate with the zero point of ear bars and the rail on the sterotaxic instruments. Combine with the 2-D manipulator and the A / P rail, this zero appliance can calibrate the electrode to Zero position in a three-dimensional coordinate system.
