Methylation Sensitive Amplification Polymorphism (MSAP) is developed based on AFLP technology. As a commonly used molecular marker method, AFLP has been successfully applied to the study of mitochondrial genetic diversity, gene expression and regulation, classification and evolution, mitochondrial methylation, and genetic map construction.
