BackgroundThe soluble lipid bilayer nanodisc has proven to be a widely applicable method for membrane proteins as soluble in aqueous solutions, which can monodisperse and active membrane protein in a closely native bilayer environment. The key component of the nanodisc is the surrounding amphiphilic spiral protein band (membrane scaffold protein). Nanodisc systems have been used to reconstruction a variety of proteins including GPCRs, P450, bacterial rhodopsin, clotting factors, and tar receptors. Membrane scaffold protein 1D1 has been used as a scaffold protein for stabilizing lipid nanodiscs (ND). Membrane scaffold protein 1D1 (MSP1D1) is modified versions of apolipoprotein A1. It is a biparental synthetic protein that can self-assemble to form nanodiscs. The diameter of Nanodiscs is about 9.7 nm. bio-equip.cn
