GPR143 encodes a protein that binds to heterotrimeric G proteins and is targeted to melanosomes in pigment cells. This protein is thought to be involved in intracellular signal transduction mechanisms. Mutations in GPR143 cause ocular albinism type 1, also referred to as Nettleship-Falls type ocular albinism, a severe visual disorder. A related pseudogene has been identified on chromosome Y.
GPR143 Polyclonal Antibody detects endogenous levels of GPR143 protein.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: IF: 1:200-1:1000, ELISA: 1:10000. Not yet tested in other applications.
