Background

This antibody recognizes the same epitope as clone 1D11.16.8. TGF beta, or Transforming Growth Factor Beta, is a multifunctional protein that plays crucial roles in various physiological processes such as cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, tissue repair, and immune response. TGF beta stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of various cell types, including fibroblasts, epithelial cells, and endothelial cells. It accomplishes this by activating intracellular signaling pathways that regulate cell cycle progression and differentiation directions. Following injury or tissue damage, the expression of TGF beta significantly increases, participating in the tissue repair and regeneration process. It promotes cell migration, proliferation, and the synthesis of extracellular matrix components, thereby accelerating wound healing. TGF beta can also be involved in tumorigenesis and development in certain circumstances. Abnormal activation of the TGF beta signaling pathway can promote excessive cell proliferation and transformation, contributing to tumor formation and progression.
