TNPO1 (Transportin 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with TNPO1 include Hiv-1 and Dementia, Frontotemporal. Among its related pathways are Development_TGF-beta receptor signaling and CDK-mediated phosphorylation and removal of Cdc6. TNPO1 encodes the beta subunit of the karyopherin receptor complex which interacts with nuclear localization signals to target nuclear proteins to the nucleus. The karyopherin receptor complex is a heterodimer of an alpha subunit which recognizes the nuclear localization signal and a beta subunit which docks the complex at nucleoporins. Alternate splicing of TNPO1 results in two transcript variants encoding different proteins.
Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the investigator. Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: WB 1:500-2000 ELISA 1:5000-20000.
