Product Specification
For researchers, pathologists, and preclinical study teams specializing in tissue biology, fibrosis research, or degenerative disease investigations, the **Col3a1/PIIINP IHC Start Kit** from Antbio Inc. is a user-centric, all-in-one tool designed to simplify and standardize immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of Col3a1 (Collagen Type III Alpha 1 Chain) and PIIINP (Procollagen III N-Terminal Propeptide). As key biomarkers of tissue repair, extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling, and fibrosis progression—critical for studying conditions like liver fibrosis, pulmonary fibrosis, and cardiac remodeling—this kit is indispensable for basic research, preclinical drug evaluation, and pathological mechanism exploration.
What makes this kit a game-changer for IHC workflows is its "Start Kit" design—it includes all pre-optimized components needed for reliable detection, eliminating the hassle of sourcing and testing individual reagents (e.g., primary antibodies, secondary antibodies, detection substrates, and blocking buffers) separately. This not only saves valuable laboratory time but also reduces the risk of experimental variability caused by mismatched or low-quality reagents. Unlike traditional IHC kits that require extensive protocol optimization, this Start Kit features a streamlined, easy-to-follow protocol, making it suitable for both experienced researchers and those new to IHC techniques.
Every component in the kit undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure consistent performance. The primary antibodies targeting Col3a1 and PIIINP are highly specific, minimizing cross-reactivity with other collagen subtypes or ECM proteins, while the premium-grade detection reagents deliver clear, reproducible staining signals—even in low-abundance samples. The kit is optimized for use with formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues and frozen tissues, covering the most common sample types in tissue biology research, and supports both manual and automated IHC staining platforms for flexible workflow integration.
Backed by Antbio’s expertise in developing application-tailored IHC tools, the Col3a1/PIIINP IHC Start Kit addresses the core challenges of ECM and fibrosis research: ensuring reliable biomarker detection, reducing experimental variability, and simplifying complex workflows. Whether you’re investigating fibrosis progression in chronic diseases, evaluating the efficacy of anti-fibrotic drugs, or studying tissue repair mechanisms, this kit delivers the specificity, consistency, and ease of use needed to advance your research.

Background
PIIINP, also known as the collagen alpha-1(III) chain, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the COL3A1 gene. Three alpha 1 chains are required to form the type III collagen molecule which has a long triple-helical domain. Type III collagen, an extracellular matrix protein, is synthesized by cells as a pre-procollagen. It is found as a major structural component in hollow organs such as large blood vessels, uterus and bowel. Other functions of type III collagen include interaction with platelets in the blood clotting cascade and it is also an important signalling molecule in would healing. Mutations in the COL3A1 gene cause the vascular type of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.
The reagent can complete 50 slides for IHC experiment and the primary antibody is excessive.
