MIOS (Meiosis Regulator For Oocyte Development) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are mTOR signaling pathway (KEGG) and PI3K / Akt Signaling. As a component of the GATOR subcomplex GATOR2, functions within the amino acid-sensing branch of the TORC1 signaling pathway. Indirectly activates mTORC1 and the TORC1 signaling pathway through the inhibition of the GATOR1 subcomplex. It is negatively regulated by the upstream amino acid sensors SESN2 and GATSL3.

Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMIOS present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MIOS is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MIOS bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
