MRM1 (Mitochondrial RRNA Methyltransferase 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Among its related pathways are rRNA processing in the mitochondrion and rRNA processing in the nucleus and cytosol. GO annotations related to this gene include poly(A) RNA binding and methyltransferase activity. S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent 2-O-ribose methyltransferase that catalyzes the formation of 2-O-methylguanosine at position 1145 (Gm1145) in the 16S mitochondrial large subunit ribosomal RNA (mtLSU rRNA), a universally conserved modification in the peptidyl transferase domain of the mtLSU rRNA.
Human RRNA methyltransferase 1, mitochondrial (MRM1) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MRM1 in samples. An antibody specific for MRM1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyMRM1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MRM1 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MRM1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
