Assembly
For easiest assembly,unpack all cage parts and lay them out in groups similar to the diagram.In this diagram,you'll sometimes see several different parts for a given umber--8a,8b,etc.Your cage contains only the parts that belong with it.
Important:
Avoid touching the inside surface of the collection funnel(3)or outside of separating cone(4).Skin oils may impede fecal/urine flow.
Subassemble1:
Snap urine ring(1)ears to lugs on slanted nose of collection funnel.Be sure spout of urine ring is pointing down.Place collection funnel inside lower chamber(2).Tab on rim of lower chamber should fit into slot on rim of funnel.Place separating cone on collection funnel.fitting cone arm brackets into notches on rim of fnnel.Set this prortion of the cage aside.
Subassembly 2:
With circular lip facing up,slide support plate (6)into white corssbars on stand.Place the support grid (10)on top of the support plate.Handles of the support grid should rest on four raised tabs on circular lip of plate.
Subassembly3:
place the upper chamber(11) on top the support grid.lock the chamber to the support plate by placing the safety retainer wire (7) over the chamber and locking the wire under the support plate.Align 3 grooves of cage cover(12)with lugs at top of upper chamber.Rotate cover clockwise to secure.
subassembly4:
slide feeder drawer (8)into feeder chamber(9)until drawer is locked into place.Insert feeder chamber into appropriate opening on upper chamber of cage.
subassembly5:
Insert water bottle support into appropriate opening on upper chamber of cage. Place fluid collection tube with funnel(13)into half-ring of water bottle support.
subassembly6:
Attach lower chamber of cage to upper chamber by lining up three ribs on lower chamber with the three l-shaped notches on the upper chamber.Raise and turn lower chamber counter-clockwise to secure. Insert feces collection tube(14)into center hole in floor of lower chamber.insert second fluid collection tube with funnel(13)into second hole in floor of lower chamber.under collection ring lip.Your cage is now fully assembled.
